SERVICES OFFERED BY THE RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT OFFICE
- Study Coordinator and Research Assistant Support – bilingual Study Coordinator and Research Assistant services are available through the Research Development Office. Services are available to assist with obtaining informed consent, conducting study visits, collecting and recording data, completing case report forms, processing biological samples, maintaining regulatory documents, participating in study monitoring visits and maintaining financial
- Project Development – The Research team is available to assist with planning and developing research grants, studies, or evaluation-base quality-improvement projects. Focal areas include clinical research and sponsored studies, studies developed by investigators (investigator-initiated studies), community-based research, and program evaluation. The team works with investigators from concept to implementation. Support includes: developing research questions, protocol development and review, study design and analysis, identification of collaborators and funding
- Statistical Support - our office provides statistical expertise in research methods, power analysis, database development, data analysis, and scientific
- Grant Support – our office can guide you through the full grant process. Pre award services include: identifying funding opportunities, application coordination, budget development, application data entry using sponsor specific software and institutional routing. Post award services include: financial reconciliation, progress report coordination, subcontract management, invoicing, and time & effort
- Protocol Feasibility - Whether it is a sponsored clinical trial or an investigator initiated study, the Research Development staff is available to discuss the specific needs of the By reviewing the protocol and other study related materials, we will look at the resources required to complete the study per protocol. Using a protocol feasibility check list, the study team can identify resource gaps to aide in determining the overall feasibility of the study. For investigator initiated studies, resources are also available to assist with protocol development.
- Contracts and Budgets - The Grants & Contracts staff works closely with the Trinity Legal Department to draft, negotiate and execute a variety of research related agreements such as: Confidentiality Agreements, Data Use Agreements, Clinical Trial Agreements, Subcontract Agreements, Personal Service Agreements, and Contract Amendments. Staff are also available to assist with budget development and
- Resident Research - The Office of Research Development offers consultation, collaboration and support to clinical educators, fellows and residents interested in conducting educational research (quantitative and qualitative).
- Software – statistical analysis programs (SPSS/SAS), bibliography program (EndNote), database (ACCESS), survey platform (Qualtrics)

- Trinity Health New England Institutional Review Board is responsible for ensuring that that the risks to human subjects are minimized and that the research complies with applicable laws and regulations. The IRB reviews all human-subject research conducted at Trinity Health of New England

- ClinicalTrials.gov provides information to assist with determining an applicable clinical trial (ACT) and provides training information for registering applicable clinical trials on ClinicalTrials.gov.

MANDELL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS CENTER
Our goal at The Joyce D. and Andrew J. Mandell Center for Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Care and Neuroscience Research is to make novel treatment options available to patients and their families living with the disease. Through the work of dedicated neuroscience researchers, we're expanding knowledge of MS and laying the groundwork for promising therapies.
CONNECTICUT JOINT REPLACEMENT INSTITUTE
The Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute (CJRI) is part of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Of New England. Our focus is on providing outstanding care in joint replacement surgery, by tracking and analyzing and data of every patient’s surgery and outcome. By doing so, the Institute is able to improve processes and protocols to best meet each patient’s needs.

The Curtis D. Robinson Center for Health Equity is dedicated to engaging our community for optimal health.
