Our Unit

Women & Infants Center at Saint Mary's Hospital

Location/Directions

The Women and Infants Center is located on the 3rd floor of the Kenny Building of Sant Mary’s Hospital. From the visitor’s parking garage, you will enter the hospital via the skywalk bridge on the second floor. At the end of the skywalk, you will enter the Kenny building by taking a slight right at the end of the bridge. At the end of that hallway, you will see elevators on your left; these are the Kenny building elevators. Take these elevators to the third floor.

When you arrive to the Women’s and Infants Center, you will be buzzed into our locked unit after giving us your name and reason for your visit. You will be welcomed by our unit clerk or one of our staff nurses. You will be asked for your ID and insurance card so that we can make a copy to keep on file. You will then be escorted and settled into one of our newly renovated triage or labor rooms.

Unit Layout

We are a Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP) unit You will switch from a labor room to a post-partum room after your initial recovery is complete. You will then be discharged home from our unit. Each labor room has a private bathroom and furniture for your support persons. The post-partum rooms also have a private bathroom, recliner, and furniture for your support persons.

Our floor also houses the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU),  specialized care for premature and sick newborns.  We care for babies born before 32 weeks and any babies who need special care. If you are ready to go home, but your baby is still being cared for in our NICU, we may be able to offer you a room to board. This will be dependent on unit census and room availability.
