Graduate Medical Education
At Saint Mary’s Hospital, you will find a variety of graduate medical education opportunities to accommodate students at every stage of their medical training.
We offer core rotations in Internal Medicine and General Surgery. Please contact your medical school Clerkship Director to determine if you are eligible.
Internal Medicine elective rotations in Nephrology and Infectious Diseases may be offered. Sub-internships are also available. These are all four week rotations and on a limited basis.

General Surgery elective rotations are offered to medical students from a University/School that holds a current educational agreement with Saint Mary’s Hospital or Trinity Health Of New England.

Yale Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program
Saint Mary's Hospital is one of the four hospital teaching sites which host the Yale Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program. Complete details on the program can be found on the Yale School of Medicine website.
Health Sciences Library
Saint Mary’s Hospital is proud to be home to the Dr. William Finkelstein Health Sciences Library. The medical library offers 24/7 access to a comprehensive array of electronic resources to meet the clinical and research needs of its users. Patrons have access to a:
- PubMed, Ovid Medline, AccessMedicine, AcccessSurgery, and UpToDate;
- Electronic resources via Saint Mary’s Intranet including over 200 electronic journals and roughly 175 e-books.
Many resources are also available to medical residents remotely.
