Let’s Not Meet By Accident
Saint Francis Hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center invites you to our 'Let’s Not Meet By Accident' events for the 2025-2026 school year. These sessions are designed to educate young drivers on the dangers of impaired and distracted driving and promote safe driving practices.
Key Topics Covered:
- Teen/young driving: Understanding the responsibilities and risks associated with being a new driver.
- Impaired driving: The dangers and consequences of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Distracted driving: The impact of distractions, such as mobile phones, on driving safety.
- Organ donation: Debunking myths and sharing real-life stories about organ donation.
- Safe/sober driving: Promoting the importance of making safe and sober driving choices.
Program Details
Two different program days to choose from and the information is listed below for each.
- Full day 8:30 a.m. start time with pick up at 2:00pm

- Stop The Bleed
- Short Day 9:00 a.m. start time and pick up at 1:15pm

Activities:
- Interactive activities with simulation goggles: Experience the effects of impaired driving in a controlled environment.
- Trauma Room and Helicopter Pad Tour: Get an inside look at the hospital's trauma facilities and helicopter pad.
- Organ donation myth-busting and real-life stories: Learn the facts about organ donation and hear inspiring stories.
- Lunch provided: Enjoy a meal during the event (allergy-friendly options not included).
- "Stop the Bleed" training (Full Day only): Learn how to stop life-threatening bleeding in three simple ways.

Available Dates: Most Mondays from September to middle of December
Important Note: Events will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather, including snow day cancellations, delays, or early dismissals. The site contact and injury prevention event coordinator should communicate promptly if inclement weather is expected. We will do our best to try to reschedule.
