Do I qualify to apply?

The application process is open to applicants who meet any of the following prerequisites at the time of program commencement:

  • 1A: Any 2-year AMA Allied Health degree, such as but not limited to: Radiologic Technology, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Cardiopulmonary Technology, Occupational Therapy, and Registered Nursing
  • 1B: Any bachelor’s degree in health science
  • 1C: Non health science bachelor's degree with the following co-requisites:
    • Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II (8 College Credits)
    • Medical Terminology
    • Note: A letter grade of C or higher is required.
  • 1D: Paramedic graduate of a degree-granting, accredited paramedic training program
    • Supporting Documentation: Official educational transcripts AND employment verification letter
  • 1E: Enrolled in accredited University/College pathway to Cardiovascular Technology, including program guidelines/standards, qualified applicants must have a minimum of 100 course credit hours, and must have completion the following courses:
    • Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II
    • Medical Terminology 
    • Note: A letter grade of C or higher is required
    • Supporting Documentation: Official educational transcripts AND Official Letter from Dean of the Schools.
  • 1F: Foreign and Domestic M.D.s and D.O.s are also eligible to apply
    • Supporting Documentation: Official educational transcripts AND/OR medical license credential
    • Note: International transcripts need to be verified by a credentialing company such as World Education Services (WES)

** Applicants for the 26 week pediatric cardiac ultrasound program need to be CCI or ARDMS registered cardiac sonographers

**Applicants for the 26 week vascular ultrasound program need to be CCI or ARDMS registered cardiac or general sonographers.

  • 52 Week Programs - Adult Cardiac Ultrasound | Vascular Ultrasound | Invasive Technology
    • Applications accepted February 1st through May 1st
    • On-campus Interviews – May
    • Notification of Acceptance – July
    • Orientation – August
    • Matriculation – First week of October
    • Graduation – End of September
  • 26 Week Programs - Pediatric Cardiac Ultrasound | Vascular Ultrasound
    • October Enrollment
      • Applications accepted February 1st through May 1st
      • Notification of Acceptance – July 1st
      • Matriculation – First week of October
      • Graduation – Early April
    • April Enrollment
      • Applications accepted October 1st through December 31st
      • Notification of Acceptance - February 1st
      • Matriculation - First week of April
      • Graduation - End of September

Financial Assistance

The Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute School of Cardiovascular Technology does not offer conventional Financial Aid as a hospital-based certificate program. The students are required to secure finances on their own. Below is a list of a few financial loan lenders partnered with the school. The students are free to use any lender they choose.


Meritize student loans can be applied for at any time, regardless of if a student has been accepted into a program or not. Meritize also offers loan deferment. See more information on Meritize loans here:
