Volunteers are an important part of the “health care team” at Trinity Health Of New England/Saint Francis Hospital/Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital. They provide an extra dimension of care and services to patients, empathy and assistance to families and visitors, and support for staff.

All accepted volunteers must receive a health clearance from the Occupational Health Department (TB blood test, review of all immunization records, flu shot during the Dec-April flu season), complete an extensive Onboarding Packet, pass a background check if 18 years old or older, and receive a photo ID badge.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- There is no limit to the number of hours they may donate
- We do expect a commitment of at least 100 hours of services over the course of 12 months

Become a School Year Junior Volunteer (High School and College Students Only)
- Minimum age to apply is 16 years old
- Commit to a minimum of 40 hours is required
- References are required
- Applicants have 30 days from date of acceptance to complete the onboarding process
- Positions are limited
- Applying does not guarantee placement
High school Applicants
- Minimum age to apply is 16 years old
- Parent/Guardian signature is required
College Applicants
- Background check is required for all volunteers 18+
- Background Check Authorization Form must be submitted with completed application
