About

Olayemi Ajayi, MD, has joined Trinity Health Of New England as a General Surgeon at Johnson Memorial Hospital. She will also be seeing and performing surgeries at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA.  Dr. Ajayi will be based on the Johnson Memorial Hospital campus and will be seeing patients in her offices in Enfield and Somers, CT.

Dr. Ajayi earned her Medical Degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She served as the Chief General Surgery Resident in the Integrated General Surgery Program at UCONN Health in
Farmington where she completed her residency.

Dr. Ajayi performs a multitude of procedures including general surgeries involving breast, complex laparoscopic, splenectomy, gallbladder pathology, port placement and/or removal, difficult vascular
access, inguinal, umbilical, ventral and paraesophegeal hernias, and colonoscopies, as well as clinical management of diverticulitis and wound care.

Dr. Ajayi has interests in public health, community outreach and medical education.

She earned Gold Humanism Awards for Excellence in Teaching as well as UCONN Health General Surgery Program Teaching Awards.

I had hernia surgery in March. Developed a seroma and followed up in May. Doctor took my concerns seriously and put me on a 3 month followup. Is now taking additional step to confirm my situation for further treatment. That kind of commitment to a patient is rare and commendable.

Dr. AJAYI is like no other surgeon I've ever met. She's kind and genuinely cares about her patients. Her smile was reassuring and warm, very relaxing and put me at ease. I would highly recommend her just on this alone since no one has been able to do this for me. Kindness is key when dealing with people and Dr. AJAYI has it in spades. I've no doubt I'm in fabulous hands in the O.R. as well.
