About
Kwame O. Asante M.D is Chairman of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical director of Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital. Prior to joining Trinity Health Of New England, Dr. Asante was Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA.
Board-certified, Dr. Asante earned his medical degree with honors from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN and was inducted into the alpha Omega alpha Medical honor society. He then completed an internship in internal medicine at University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, IL. After that, he had training in dermatology at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA, followed by Physical medicine and rehabilitation training at Temple University Hospital/Moss Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia, PA where he served as a chief resident.
Dr. Asante’s clinical interests include: comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation, concussion and acquired brain injury medicine, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, performance injuries, electro-diagnostics and peripheral nerve injury medicine.
