Breast Surgery

Our breast surgical oncologists have expertise in the evaluation and care of women with all types of breast disease, including benign conditions (such as breast pain and nipple discharge), management of hereditary breast cancer syndromes, and breast cancers. We employ contemporary surgical techniques such as breast conserving surgery (lumpectomy), MagSeed localization—a wirefree and radiation-free method of localizing tumors for surgery, skin and nipple sparing mastectomy, reverse axillary mapping, and oncoplastic procedures.

Our surgeons combine state-of-the-art technology and specialized expertise with the most current surgical techniques. We are passionate in what we do and our goal is to empower women to make well informed decisions about their care. We work closely with our colleagues in medical oncology, radiation oncology, and plastic and reconstructive surgery to ensure a comprehensive approach to treatment.

Our breast care program is the only one in the greater Springfield area accredited by both the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, assuring that we meet the highest standards of care for patients with diseases of the breast.
