Wound Care Center & Hyperbaric Medicine at Mercy Medical Center

At Mercy Medical Center's Wound Care Center, we specialize in healing chronic wounds. Most of our patients are completely healed in 12 weeks or less – even those with wounds that haven’t responded after months, even years, of other treatments. In fact, we heal 93% of the patients discharged from our program.

We provide specialized care for a wide range of wounds, including:

    • Pressure ulcers, such as bedsores
    • Diabetic foot ulcers (a complication of diabetes)
    • Arterial ulcers (wounds caused by circulatory problems)
    • Venous insufficiency (also called a venous stasis ulcer, a wound that occurs when the leg veins don't return blood toward the heart the way they should)
    • Burns
    • Non-healing surgical wounds
    • Post-radiation tissue injury
    • Vasculitis-related skin ulcers (vasculitis is inflammation of blood vessels)
    • Peristomal skin irritations (skin disturbances at the site of an ostomy, a surgically created opening in the body for discharging body wastes)
