Saint Francis Hospital has been an anchor institution in Connecticut since 1897. Saint Francis, a member of Trinity Health Of New England and Trinity Health, one of the largest multi-institutional Catholic health care delivery systems in the nation. Saint Francis Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, is a 617 bed hospital and a major teaching hospital and the largest Catholic hospital in New England. Other Saint Francis entities include the Comprehensive Women’s Health Center, the Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute, the Curtis D. Robinson Center for Health Equity, the Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute of Connecticut, the Smilow Cancer Hospital Yale-New Haven at Saint Francis, and Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group.

Getting Around the Hospital

Mini-Cabs are available inside the hospital (Monday - Friday: 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.) to take you to your destination if you choose not to walk. You may summon the Mini-Cab at the Information Desk or by using the telephones marked with yellow and black checkered signs. These phones are located just inside Collins Parking Garage entrances to the Patient Care Tower.

    • Located on the first floor of Building 1
    • Menu offerings include a choice of gourmet and traditional style foods, popular grab 'n go items including pizza, grilled items, and self-service salad and deli-bars.

    • Weekends and Holidays: 6:30 a.m. - 6:45 p.m

    • Located on the first floor across from the pharmacy

Saint FrancisRx is located on the first floor of Saint Francis Hospital across from Au Bon Pain and on the Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital campus in the Burgdorf building.The pharmacy team at Saint FrancisRx is here to support you and your prescription needs.

The Auxiliary at Saint Francis
The Auxiliary at Saint Francis operates gift shops on the Saint Francis and Mount Sinai campuses as part of its fundraising activities. The shop carries a variety of items.
 
All proceeds from Auxiliary activities directly benefit Saint Francis Hospital and its patients.

    Spiritual Services

    Saint Francis Hospital recognizes the spiritual component of healing and wellness. A vibrant staff of professional chaplains in the Department of Spiritual Care supports this commitment by providing spiritual and supportive care to patients and family members of all beliefs and faith traditions any time during their stay.

    • Chaplains provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The office hours are 7:30 a.m-4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
    • Dial 0 and ask the operator for the on-call chaplain
    • Ask your nurse to page the on-call chaplain

    For emergencies outside routine hours, a chaplain may be reached by dialing “0” from within the hospital or (860) 714-4000 from outside the hospital. Chaplains are also available to provide support to hospital staff.

    Hospitality Suites

    Saint Francis Hospital recognizes the important role that family and loved ones play in a patient's recovery. The Hospitality Suites at Saint Francis are designed to allow family members and loved ones to stay as close as possible to patients who are undergoing serious procedures or who are in critical condition with injuries or illnesses.

    • The Hospital offers a limited number of hotel-style hospitality suites, each limited to a one-week maximum stay.
