About
Swagoto Mukhopadhyay, MD, MPH is a physician for the Department of Surgical Oncology at Saint Francis Hospital with Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group.
Dr. Mukhopadhyay recently completed his fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the University of Rochester – Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. He previously completed a General Surgery Residency program at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Mukhopadhyay also served as the Chief Research Fellow for the Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellowship/Program in Global Surgery and Social Change at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital. After receiving his medical degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine, Dr. Mukhopadhyay served as a Global Surgery Fellow for the Harvard Center for Global Health Delivery Department of Surgery in Dubai. He also earned a Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
During his Global Surgery Fellowship, he served as the Lead Fellow in Surgical Policy Development and Implementation, partnering with organizations in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Zambia, India, and the Middle East, while also collaborating with the World Health Organization and World Bank to assess use of quality improvement metrics in low- and middle-income countries.
Dr. Mukhopadhyay is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians.
