Saint Mary's Hospital - Emergency Medical Services
Trinity Health Of New England Emergency Medical Services has been a part of the Greater Waterbury community for generations. Campion Ambulance Services began at Saint Mary’s Hospital, a Trinity Health Of New England member hospital, in the late 1940’s. Edmund Campion purchased two ambulances to carry patients to the hospital. Since that time, the family run business has served the Greater Waterbury community and provided services to several other area towns as far north as Winsted and west to New Milford. On October 23, 2019, Campion Ambulance transitioned to Trinity Health Of New England, becoming Trinity Health Of New England EMS. The move brought Campion full circle.
The transition provided the EMS team with an investment in technology, as well as upgrades for its fleet of ambulances and crews. The Primary Service Areas remain the same as Trinity Health Of New England EMS continued their support to Waterbury, Torrington, Prospect, Cheshire, with regional paramedic support to the greater Waterbury areas, Southbury, New Milford, Litchfield and Winsted.
