For roughly four decades, Trinity Health Of New England has partnered with the Travelers Championship, which is a participant in the PGA TOUR Tradition of Giving Back. According to the Travelers Championship, since its inception in 1952, the Connecticut-based PGA Tour event has donated more than $49 million to charities in the surrounding community.

This year, once again, Trinity Health Of New England served as the Official Medical Provider at the tournament, as they have done for an estimated 35 years. The onsite medical care team was made up of Emergency Department physicians, nurses, and support staff from Saint Francis Hospital, Trinity Health Of New England Mobile Healthcare colleagues, along with many community-based EMT and Paramedic personnel, all caring for fans, players, and volunteers in need of medical attention throughout the week. Year over year, the medical services offered at the tournament have received high accolades from the event organizers and the PGA, and with this year’s oppressive heat and increased number of spectators, the team proved their abilities to maintain a safe environment for all in attendance.

In addition to the medical care onsite, Trinity Health Of New England supported the tournament’s Military Appreciation Program. The program offered a complimentary one-day grounds ticket and up to two tickets for dependents to all active, guard, reserve, retired and military service members, along with U.S. veterans. U.S. military service members and veterans also received access to the Patriots’ Outpost, a hospitality venue located along the ninth fairway, including complimentary lunch each day of the tournament. Guests were able to watch some of the best golfers in the world from the open-air, covered seating area as a token of appreciation for their sacrifices to serve and protect.

Leaders, colleagues, and physicians from Saint Francis and Trinity Health Of New England also served as representatives in dozens of local media interviews throughout the week, highlighting each aspect of their onsite presence. Onsite services were featured on WFSB Channel 3, WTNH News 8, NBC Connecticut, and FOX61 News as well as in radio and print publications across the state. Trinity Health Of New England rounded out it’s services to tournament goers with their Rest & Recharge Station where patrons were able to step out of the heat into an air-conditioned space, complete with a phone charging station, and two privacy baby care suites for diaper changing and breastfeeding needs, the only designated space of its kind on the course. The Fan Zone vendor tent also provided spectators free sunscreen and other wellness giveaways, and offered golf fans a chance to play the famous Price is Right game, PLINKO to earn additional prizes. New this year, Trinity Health Of New England also supported the special assistance shuttles located throughout the golf course to help those in need of additional mobility support navigate and get around the tournament, providing one more service to ensure the tournament was accessible for all to enjoy.
