Saint Francis Welcomes Dawn LeRoy, MSN, RN, as Chief Nursing Officer

Dawn LeRoy, MSN, RN, CEN-BC, has been named Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of Saint Francis Hospital. Dawn is a proven leader with a passion for the nursing profession. She has extensive experience in senior leadership and clinical roles and is committed to driving transformational initiatives, strategic planning, and performance improvement.
Dawn is joining Saint Francis after spending the last two years as CNO at Kern Medical in Bakersfield, Calif., an acute care teaching center offering the only Level II Advanced Trauma Center between Fresno and Los Angeles. While at Kern, Dawn led and managed the nursing enterprise of high quality, safe, and efficient nursing care with measurable outcomes. She established and executed new staffing and care models to improve the quality of care, treatment, and services delivered to patients and championed safety efforts throughout the organization.
Dawn previously spent eight years with Tenet Healthcare, including serving as CNO at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas and Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. Prior to her time in Texas, she was Vice President of Nursing Administration for MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Ill. Dawn also served as Director of Patient Care Services and Manager of the Emergency and Outpatient Departments at Presence Health Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, Ill.
Dawn earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago and holds a Certificate of Administrative Nursing Leadership from the same institution. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Emergency Nurses Association, American Organization of Nurse Executives, and the American Heart Association. Dawn has served as chair of several hospital committees in her career, including the Staffing Committee, Hospital Throughput Committee, and others.
