Vision Benefits

Eyesight is a gift worth protecting

Whether it’s the smile of a newborn grandchild, a bright orange sunset, or the ending of your favorite novel. Eyesight is a precious gift that needs to be protected as you age.

Beginning at age 50, adults should have a dilated eye exam every year even if they’ve had good vision their entire life. After age 60, dilated eye exams can occur every two years, according to the National Institute on Aging (NIA).

Regular appointments can detect early signs of disease and ensure that prescriptions are kept up to date. Most eye diseases may go unnoticed in their early stages, which is why it’s important to receive regular screenings from an eye care professional. The good news is that some diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and glaucoma can be treated if caught early.

Our plans partner with Spectera to offer you exceptional vision benefits through Trinity Health Of New England's Vision, providing you access to a national eye care network including retail and private practice locations. Members receive routine annual exams, and Medicare-covered vision services.

Our plan includes an annual hardware allowance (amount varies by plan) to use towards the purchase of glasses (frames and/or lenses) and contact lenses.
